Guitar Concert Featuring Alvaro Pierri

World-acclaimed classical guitarist Alvaro Pierri, gold medalist in three international guitar competitions held in Paris, Buenos Aires and Brazil, will debut in Manila.

 Described by the New York Times as ìbrilliant, sensitive and breathtaking,î Pierri will be heard in Manila just before his much-waited return engagement in Hong Kong. Born in Montevideo in Uruguay from a family of musicians, Pierri made his debut in Germany with the string soloists of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and subsequently appeared on numerous radio and television programs produced by the German, Spanish, French, Canadian and Japanese radios.

Pierriís Manila program consists of Nicolo Paganiniís Grande Sonata, Miguel Lobetís Preludio & Mazurca, Federico Moreno Torrobaís Sonatina, William Waltonís Five Bagatelles, Manuel Ponceís Sonata No. 3 and Alberto Ginasteraís Sonata for Guitar Op. 47.

 Pierriís guitar CDs will also be available during his Manila concert.

 

 Ticket prices are P2,000 (Orch-C); P1,500 (Orch-R/L); P1,000 (Loge-C); and P500 (Loge-L/R). Discounts are available for Philamlife employees, agents, and VIP clients.

Piano Concert Featuring Ilya Rashkovskiy

World-acclaimed Russian pianist Ilya Rashkovskiy, prizewinner of the First Hong Kong International Piano Competition and the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition (Paris) returns to the Philamlife Theater after his triumphant Manila debut in December last year.

 Rashkovskiyís Manila program is inspired by dance as follows: Frederic Chopinís Seven Selected Waltzes Op. 34, 64, 69 and No. 14, Scriabinís Valse, Op. 38 A Flat Major, Ravelís La Valse and Valses Nobles Sentimentales and Lisztís Soirees de Vienne: Valse-Caprice No. 6 and Mephisto Waltz No. 1.

His Manila program last year consisting of fantasy themes by Mozart, Schubert, Chopin, Scriabin. Liszt and Balakirev has been recorded by a Hong Kong-based label and will be available during his Manila engagement at the Philamlife Theater.
