You can avail of a room and board with no daily limit as long as it is a private room accommodation.

• Point-of-Service (POS) Option Benefit*

You can avail of services of non-affiliated doctors and/or non-affiliated hospitals in the Philippines for their hospitalization benefits, whether emergency or non-emergency. This means that you may avail of hospitalization benefits even without authorization from PhilamCare as long as the hospitalization is prescribed by a qualified physician.

For out-patient benefits, you may go directly to an affiliated specialist even without prior authorization from PhilamCare. General medical consultation and laboratory or diagnostic exams however must be done in a PhilamCare clinic.

*In any of the above cases where the services were rendered by a non-affiliated provider or there was no prior authorization from PhilamCare, you will have to advance the payment to the doctor and the hospital. You may also be charged by the doctor according to the doctor's private fees. You shall then be reimbursed 80% of the health care expenses that you incurred but not to exceed 80% of what PhilamCare would have paid had you been treated by an Affiliated Physician in an Affiliated Hospital.

• New Modalities of Treatment

PhilamCare offers full coverage of the cost of new modalities of treatment such as Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Lithotripsy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Nuclear/Radioactive Isotope Scans.

* The availment of Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy or Lithotripsy is limited to only once per contract year. When you choose these newer modalities of treatment, PhilamCare shall no longer be liable for the cost of further traditional mode of treatment/diagnostic tests for the the same illness should they be necessary.
