PHILAMCARE HEALTH SYSTEMS, Inc., then known as the PHILIPPINE HEALTH SYSTEMS, INC. was born in February 1982 out of a compelling desire to serve people in need of excellent, yet cost-efficient, health care. A group of doctors completely dedicated to this cause began the endeavor of setting up the first Health Maintenance Organization of the country.
