Stock Selection
The equity investment process begins with the quantitative screening of the investment universe. This will include companies where we see potential and characteristics consistent with our investment approach and beliefs. The categorization structure based on the company’s development stage mentioned above will help define the appropriate analytical approach and valuation metrics.
The fundamental analysis for all growth categories will be based on relative valuations and fundamental progression wherein the valuations and metrics used to evaluate each category differ based on the stage of a company’s life cycle. The objective is to distill the best stock ideas to create a highly efficient portfolio. As a general rule, we will strive for a significant level of out-performance over an established benchmark within the risk parameters, without being ineffectively over-diversified.
Continuous monitoring of the portfolio will be undertaken based on a disciplined buy/sell criteria within each of the four categories. Evaluation will, among others, include which securities in the portfolio are providing consistent source of alpha, whether or not the portfolio needs re-balancing or restructuring and any recent economic occurrences that might impact the portfolio. Performance review and risk analysis for consistency with portfolio targets; and portfolio review for deviations from the investment process, objectives, and company and regulatory guidelines, will be done regularly.
Fund Restrictions
All investments of the Fund will be in accordance with the Insurance Code/Commission guidelines.
